Teams often rely on assumptions: a user would never use it that way, this data always comes in neatly, everyone knows how this is meant to work. That sounds logical during development. The reality is much messier. Users take different paths, data is never completely clean, and modules use different definitions without anyone noticing.

TMAP puts all of this back on the table. It makes explicit how the system should behave when data deviates, steps are skipped, external dependencies cause delays, or historical data contains strange values. It is not extra testing work. It is the definition of quality.

Why detail so often goes wrong in software projects

The errors that arise from functionality details are rarely spectacular. You can't blame anyone. But as a result, the system does not meet the detailed quality standards required in the real world.

The premium was completely wrong and support couldn't reproduce it because no one knew which input combination had caused it.

This is not the kind of bug that arises from bad code. This is the kind of bug that arises from not testing detailed functionality. From assumptions about what constitutes 'normal use'. From not taking unusual scenarios into account.

And that is precisely why this quality attribute is so valuable.
